Leaders Are Managers, But Managers Are Not Necessarily Leaders


Manager and leader are two words in same idea. Still, ‘all mangers are leaders but all leaders are not managers’ isthe main fact which practically applying in the organizations. Managers are giving the directions and leaders are asking questions and following the directions with followers (DiGirolamo & Tkach, 2019). Leaders have the followers while the managers having subordinates. Manager has an authority granted in the organizations while the leaders are motivational and less power and authority. Managers are telling the fact and leaders are showing the facts (Chiu, et al., 2017). Managers are with the good ideas and leaders are with the good actions. Managers are reacting in the change while the leaders are responsible in creating the change. Managers are trying to be a hero in the content while the making heroes are undertaking by leaders. Excessing of power is there in managers while the leaders are developing he power.  Thus, managers are leaders but all leaders are not managers (Evans, et al., 2019)



Leading and managing have different aspects while the common goal also there in both actions which is the accomplishment in the objectives and making the directional approaches in organization with motivating others in achieving the necessary outcomes (Evans, et al., 2019; Romanelli, 2021).




 





Leaders are born and managers are created. Managers need the higher application of the leadership qualities in managing the developments in the future. With these applications, it can be said that;

All managers are leaders and it is not necessary that all leaders need to be managers!!!

Leadership is about motivating employees using different tactics and drives them towards organizational goals.But managers are focused on planning.They use their authority over others and asked employees to do as they told.JOHN KOTTER tells that "management is focused on creating order through processes ,whereas leadership is focus on creating order through a vision.More specifically,for example,leadership create a vision and management create deadline." So its difficult to find true leaders in many organizations and generated many problems such as decrease performance level,poor team work unbearable work load and stress.This will directly effect organization performance.So I believe all managers should be leaders.I agreed with your article.Waiting to read others also.Thanks for shearing.
